Day 1: Dehradun to Sankri – Journey to the Trek Base Village
Drive Distance: 200 km
Travel Time: 9–10 Hours
Altitude: 6,455 ft
Your adventure begins from the city of Dehradun as you travel towards the charming Himalayan village of Sankri, which serves as the base camp for the trek.
The drive takes you through scenic mountain roads passing towns like Nainbagh, Purola, Mori, and Naitwar. Along the route, travelers enjoy views of pine forests, mountain rivers, and traditional Himalayan villages.
After reaching Sankri, check into a guesthouse or homestay. In the evening, the trek leader conducts a briefing session covering trek details, safety measures, and packing instructions.
Overnight stay: Guesthouse / homestay in Sankri.
Day 2: Sankri to Sikolta – Trek Through Dense Forest Trails
Trek Distance: 5 km
Trek Duration: 5–6 Hours
After breakfast, begin the trek from Sankri towards the campsite of Sikolta.
The trail gradually climbs through thick forests of pine, walnut, oak, and rhododendron. As you walk deeper into the forest, the atmosphere becomes quieter and more scenic.
During the trek, occasional clearings offer beautiful views of surrounding Himalayan peaks including Kedarkantha Peak.
Upon reaching Sikolta, enjoy the peaceful forest campsite surrounded by towering trees and fresh mountain air.
Overnight stay: Tented camp at Sikolta.
Day 3: Sikolta to Bhoj Gadi – Trek to the Alpine Campsite
Trek Duration: 4–5 Hours
Altitude: 3,400 m
After breakfast, continue trekking towards the scenic campsite of Bhoj Gadi.
The trail gradually ascends through forest sections and open meadows. As you climb higher, the landscape begins to open up, revealing wide mountain views.
Trekkers can enjoy breathtaking sights of surrounding peaks such as:

Bandarpoonch
Bhoj Gadi campsite offers a beautiful setting surrounded by alpine grasslands and distant snow-covered mountains.
Overnight stay: Tented camp at Bhoj Gadi.
Day 4: Bhoj Gadi to Pushtara via Phulara Ridge – The Ridge Walk
Trek Duration: 6 Hours
Maximum Altitude: 3,690 m (Phulara Ridge)
This is the most exciting and scenic day of the trek.
After breakfast, begin trekking towards the famous Phulara Ridge. Unlike most treks where the ridge walk lasts only a few minutes, Phulara Ridge allows trekkers to walk along the ridge for several hours.
The ridge offers 360-degree panoramic views of surrounding valleys and mountain ranges.
Trekkers may also spot the vibrant Himalayan bird species Himalayan Monal, the state bird of Uttarakhand.
From the ridge, trekkers can witness spectacular views of peaks including:

Bandarpoonch
Hanuman Top
After enjoying the ridge walk, descend gradually towards the lush green meadows of Pushtara.
Overnight stay: Tented camp at Pushtara Meadows.
Day 5: Pushtara to Taluka – Drive Back to Sankri
Trek Duration: 4–5 Hours
Drive Duration: 1 Hour
After breakfast, begin descending through dense pine forests towards the village of Taluka.
The trail passes through scenic forest paths, streams, and traditional Himalayan landscapes. Upon reaching Taluka, board a vehicle for the short drive back to Sankri.
Once in Sankri, relax and celebrate the successful completion of the trek.
Overnight stay: Guesthouse / homestay in Sankri.
Day 6: Sankri to Dehradun – Return Journey
Drive Distance: 200 km
Travel Time: 8–9 Hours
After breakfast, begin the return drive from Sankri to Dehradun.
The scenic route again passes through Mori, Purola, and Mussoorie valleys. Enjoy the beautiful mountain landscapes one last time before reaching Dehradun by evening.
