The journey begins from the popular mountain town of Manali. After breakfast, participants drive through scenic mountain roads toward Jobra, the starting point of the Hampta Pass Trek.

The drive itself is beautiful, passing through dense forests and mountain landscapes of the Kullu Valley.

From Jobra, the trek begins with a gentle trail through forests filled with pine, maple, and oak trees. The path gradually opens up to wide green meadows with views of the surrounding mountains.

Soon trekkers reach Chika, a picturesque campsite located beside the flowing Rani Nallah. The open grasslands and dramatic mountain backdrop make this a perfect first campsite.

Day 2: Chika → Balu Ka Ghera

Trek Distance: 8.5 km
Trek Duration: 5–6 hours
Altitude: 11,900 ft

After breakfast, the trek continues along the beautiful valley carved by the Rani Nallah.

The trail gradually ascends through rocky landscapes, grassy slopes, and small river crossings. During summer months, the valley is filled with colorful alpine flowers and lush vegetation.

Trekkers will pass several scenic viewpoints and small streams while enjoying views of snow-covered peaks in the distance.

Eventually the trail reaches Balu Ka Ghera, which translates to “bed of sand.” This campsite is surrounded by dramatic mountains and glacial valleys.

As trekkers climb higher, the terrain gradually changes from lush green valleys to rocky high-altitude landscapes. The summit of the pass offers breathtaking panoramic views of surrounding peaks, including the magnificent Indrasan.

The pass also marks the dramatic transition between the green Kullu Valley and the barren landscapes of Lahaul Valley.

After spending some time at the pass enjoying the views, the trek descends steeply toward Siagoru, a cold and rugged campsite surrounded by rocky terrain.

Overnight Stay: Campsite at Siagoru.

Day 4: Siagoru → Chatru → Chandratal Lake (Optional)
